Maria Tallchief is an American ballerina. From either 1942 to 1947 she danced with a Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo, but she is better known for her instance sustaining a New York City Ballet from 1947 to 1965.

She was natural Betty Marie Tall Chief within Fairfax, Oklahoma on January 24, 1925, to a Osage Nation father and the Scotch-Irish mother.
